Bark in the Park
2009
|
The Stephens County Humane Society and Friends of the Humane Society set new records at the fourth annual Bark in the Park in Duncan. An estimated 1,000 individuals with and without their furry friends enjoyed beautiful weather as they gathered at Fuqua Park in Duncan Oct. 24, 2009. Organizers reported the event helped generate close to $20,000 for the SCHS. The funds will help make the shelter a happier healthier place for the adoption of animals.
The crowd was wonderful, and showed so much support. We want to give a special thank you to (master of ceremonies) Dr. Joe Ligon, and to J.D. Taylor who took care of our sound system, and to all the t-shirt sponsors, concession donations, baked goodies, booth vendors, and people who volunteered throughout the day.”
We hope to see everyone again next year, but until then, remember to spay and neuter your pets and keep your vaccinations up to date so your pets will be healthy and ready to Bark in the Park next year!!
Keep watching for next year's date for BARK IN THE PARK 2010! If you want to be a sponsor, please call Patti Whitaker at (580) 641-0667!
